Dr. Cheah See Kian Led A Delegation of Malaysia-China Hakka Business Confederation Association to Bid A Farewell to Chinese Consul General in Penang Mr. Lu Shiwei

On August 15, 2022, Chinese Consul General in Penang Mr. Lu Shiwei met with the President of Malaysia-China Hakka Business Confederation Association Dr. Cheah See Kian, who led a delegation to bid a farewell to Consul General Lu.  

Consul General Mr. Lu Shiwei expressed his sincere gratitude to Malaysia-China Hakka Business Confederation Association, especially the Perak, Kedah, and Perlis branches for coming all the way to bid farewell to him. He praised that President Dr. Cheah See Kian is a  cross-boundary leading personage in the consular district, who has worked tirelessly in various fields such as media, business, academia, etc. His endeavour is worth learning. Consul General Mr. Lu Shiwei said that the bilateral economic and trade cooperation between China and Malaysia continues to develop rapidly, and cultural exchanges are recovering gradually. The Consulate General will, as always, deepen exchanges and cooperation with various chambers of commerce, and promote the continuous development of relations between China and Malaysia at the national and local levels.

Dr. Cheah See Kian thanked Consul General Mr. Lu Shiwei and Chinese Consulate General in Penang for their support and assistance to Malaysia-China Hakka Business Confederation Association and its branches, and expressed his reluctance on Consul General Mr. Lu Shiwei’s departure. Dr. Cheah See Kian expressed that he will maintain close contact with Chinese Consulate General in Penang, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Chinese enterprises and the research institutions of Chinese universities, and actively promote the Belt and Road cooperation between China and Malaysia.

Consul General Mr. Lu Shiwei expounded China’s position on U.S. Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, and introduced the white paper titled “The Taiwan Question and China’s Reunification in the New Era”.
